“She was cooking dinner,” Dorothy’s said. “There’s food on the stove where she was cutting up okra and cooking okra. And then when her husband got home she was gone. Her purse was there. Her driver’s license, everything. And she was missing.”
She was officially reported missing to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office on January 27, 2020 after she failed to show up to her daughter’s birthday party.
INVESTIGATION
Dorothy’s purse, ID, cellphone, and vehicle (which was not in running condition at the time) were all left behind at home.
Numerous searches, aided by drones and K9 units, have been conducted on the five acre property where Dorothy lived with her husband. Some of Dorothy’s jewelry, as well as a hat and scarf, were found during one of the searches, but no further clues as to her whereabouts have been found.
According to Dorothy’s mother, Dorothy made a call to an unnamed friend at 3:45 pm on January 21, 2020. During that call Dorothy told the friend that that she and Kevan had been fighting, and that she needed to get away.
Dorothy also asked about a restaurant job the friend had previously offered her. While on the phone someone reportedly walked in on her. Dorothy’s mother gave this information to detectives, but no further information has been made public.
