Two brothers allegedly beat stepfather to death claiming he abused sister

 Two siblings in Texas took drastic measures to protect their sister by fatally subduing their stepfather, who had faced previous allegations of persistent sexual abuse of a minor. Pharr Police Chief Andy Harvey disclosed during a press briefing that the stepfather, Quintanilla, had been accused of sexual abuse in an unrelated case that came to light in 2019, involving a different victim.

The sexual abuse incidents reportedly occurred between 2014 and 2016, leading investigators to gather sufficient evidence for a warrant against Quintanilla. However, locating him proved challenging. Chief Harvey explained that despite diligent efforts by detectives, including searches at his last known residence and visits to his mother's abode, Quintanilla remained elusive and evaded capture.

Chief Harvey outlined the events that unfolded in response to Quintanilla's actions, stating that the siblings forcibly took him, transported him in the back of an F-150, and abandoned him at a different location. At the drop-off site, the siblings reportedly appropriated some belongings from Quintanilla. The police are currently pursuing capital murder charges for the adolescents involved.

Chief Harvey emphasized that their duty is to build a case and present the facts to the district attorney's office. The district attorney will subsequently determine the appropriate charges. The investigation is ongoing, with the aim of providing additional facts to support the pursuit of charges.
