Taylor Schabusiness’ Unforgivable Crimes

Taylor Schabusiness’ Unforgivable Crimes

In a gruesome and methamphetamine-fueled crime, Wisconsin woman Taylor Schabusiness has been sentenced to life without parole for the brutal murder and dismemberment of her ex-boyfriend, Shad Thyrion. The horrifying incident unfolded in February 2022, leaving the victim decapitated and his body mutilated. Schabusiness, who appeared in court wearing a white mask and an orange jumpsuit, received the life sentence from Judge Thomas Walsh.

The crime came to light when Shad Thyrion's mother discovered her son's decapitated head in a bucket in the basement of their family residence in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Law enforcement subsequently uncovered more dismembered body parts, including Thyrion's torso, in a storage tote. The shocking details revealed that Schabusiness, under the influence of methamphetamine and prescription drugs, strangled Thyrion during sexual intercourse. After his death, she engaged in further acts of desecration, including dismemberment, removal of internal organs, and additional mutilation.

Schabusiness faced multiple charges, including first-degree murder, mutilation of a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault. Her trial, marked by disturbing revelations, took a dramatic turn when she attacked her attorney, Quinn Jolly, on February 14, 2023, following a request for a trial date extension. Despite the assault, a new attorney, Christopher Froelich, took over the case.

During the trial, forensic psychologist Diane Lytton testified that Schabusiness claimed to have had a relationship with the infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer a year prior, despite Dahmer's death in 1994. Former Green Bay detective Jenna Luberda also revealed that Schabusiness had been researching Dahmer and had photos of him on her phone leading up to Thyrion's murder.

The jury, on July 26, found Schabusiness guilty of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilation of a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault. At the sentencing hearing on September 26, Judge Walsh handed down the life sentence without the possibility of parole. Judge Walsh emphasized the need to protect the public from Schabusiness, describing the crime as a profound violation of human decency, dignity, and community.

Despite the severity of the crime, Thyrion's father expressed forgiveness toward Schabusiness, recognizing that everyone makes bad choices. However, Schabusiness refused to address the court, exhibiting defiance and disinterest as the judge recounted her heinous crimes.

In an emotionally charged moment, Kelly Thyrion, Shad's uncle, addressed Judge Walsh, referring to Schabusiness as 'S***business' and expressing a wish for her to meet the same fate as her idol Jeffrey Dahmer. The sentencing marked the end of a trial filled with disturbing details, a violent courtroom incident, and a final verdict that ensures Taylor Schabusiness will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
