Mom Killed by Boyfriend in , 10-Year-Old Son Seriously Wounded.

A tragic incident unfolded in Sheffield, Alabama, where a woman, identified as 38-year-old Ashley Lynn McClung, lost her life in a murder-suicide involving her boyfriend, 40-year-old Christopher Narmore. The heartbreaking incident occurred on Sunday evening, and Ashley’s 10-year-old son, Cayson McClung, suffered serious injuries as he bravely tried to shield his mother during the shooting.

Chief Ricky Terry of the Sheffield Police Department provided details, revealing that the confrontation between Ashley and Narmore escalated, leading to a fatal outcome. Narmore, armed with a gun, attempted to shoot Ashley, and in the struggle that ensued, Cayson stepped in.

Tragically, Cayson was shot in the face and arm while trying to protect his mother. The sequence of events concluded with Narmore taking his own life.

Despite his severe injuries, Cayson was conscious when emergency responders arrived. He underwent two surgeries and is now in stable condition, with doctors managing to save his arm and remove much of the shotgun pellets from his face.

The New Bethel Elementary School, where Cayson attends, expressed support and prayers for him in a Facebook post.

In the aftermath of Ashley’s death, friends and family members have shared tributes on social media platforms, a GoFundMe fundraiser, and a memorial page. Ashley’s sister, Tonya Willis, mentioned that arrangements for Ashley’s memorial are on hold until Cayson returns home.

Ashley is remembered as a loving and devoted mother who actively participated in her children’s activities. Her obituary highlighted her love for fishing, singing, and the beach. A poignant moment was shared by her mother, Sherrie Newton, who posted an old video of Ashley singing during her battle with cancer in 2020.

The family is currently unavailable for further comments, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted, as stated by Chief Ricky Terry in a press release.
